Bridging the Gap
We offer a Summer Learning Program to students in grades 1 through 12. During the summer, our students’ days are filled with hands-on academics, enrichment, healthy living, field trips and fun! We know that a leading cause of the academic achievement gap between low income students and their more privileged counter parts is the unequal access to summer learning programs. We are adamant about providing our students with academic activities in math, reading, science, and speaking that are not only informative, but also fun!
Ready for the Next Level
Our students are given tests at the beginning and end of our summer program that are aligned with the common core so we can accurately assess the areas in which they are succeeding and struggling. We work throughout the summer to not only ensure they retain their previous grade’s lessons, but are also prepared for the objectives of their next grade. Aside from academics, our students enjoy an array of enrichment activities including robotics, cooking, sewing, science experiments and arts & crafts.
Educational & Fun!
Our students also participate in daily physical fitness, learn the 8 healthy habits for kids, and even learn CPR and first aid. Our field trips include making local trips to Pine Bluff movie theaters, bowling alleys, skating rinks, swimming pools, arcades, and experiencing our area’s agriculture and nature with trips to local farms and activities including canoeing, fishing, archery, and much more.
